U's on guard against the Railwaymen
Oxford United start their preparations for 2015/16 with a first pre-season game of the summer at Didcot Town on Saturday (3pm)
After two weeks of intensive training, including a stay at nearby RAF Benson, the U's have looked sharp on the training pitches but Head Coach Michael Appleton is looking forward to seeing his new-look squad take to the field for the first time.
"They have worked hard so far" he told Yellow Player "but you want to see them in a match situation and it should be a good first game for us."
United are likely to give everyone in a 22 man squad a run-out and have no injuries to worry about
"It's the one game we will probably play two different teams in the two halves" Michael said. "There won't be too much to read into who plays which half, we just want everyone to get some time on the pitch. In my head I know the team I am planning to field in the first league game but there is plenty of time and everyone has a chance to impress me over the next few games."
Prices for this game are:
£9 for Adults
£5 for concession
£1 for under 16s
Kick off is at 3pm and there is always a warm welcome at Didcot so come along and join us for a first look at the new look U’s.
The U's will wear their familiar current kit on Saturday and in Austria next week with news on the brand new kit to follow soon...
And if you can’t be there then listen in to Yellow Player HD for full commentary, with interviews with the key men to follow.
