Right-back joins the U's from MK Dons
Oxford United have completed the signing of George Baldock on loan from MK Dons until the end of the season.
Right-back Baldock, 21 and brother of Brighton striker Sam, has been with the Dons since he was 10. He has had loan spells at Northampton, Tamworth and in Iceland, where he played in the Europa League. George has made over 50 appearances for the Dons since turning pro in 2009 and can also play a holding role in midfield.
United Head Coach Michael Appleton said:
“George has been involved with a team chasing promotion from the division above this season and wants to come here and be part of a successful side. It gives us decent competition for places all over the park and it gives us plenty to think about as we build towards the game at Burton at the weekend.”
George told us:
“I am really looking forward to it. I lost my place at MK because of injury and they have been in such great form that I haven’t been able to get back in, so this is a great chance to come to Oxford, play games and be part of what they are trying to build here. A lot of people have told me that Oxford are a club on the up and this is a great opportunity for me.”
