Alex MacDonald joins the U's from the Brewers
Oxford United have today completed the signing of 24-year-old forward Alex MacDonald from Burton Albion for an undisclosed fee. The Scottish under 21 international joins the U’s on a two and a half year deal, with an option for a further year, after completing his medical this morning.
Originally with Burnley, Alex gained experience with loans at Falkirk, Inverness and Plymouth before a successful loan spell at Burton was followed by a permanent deal in the summer of 2013. Able to play all along the front line he has scored seven times for the Brewers already this season and Head Coach Michael Appleton believes he will be a valuable addition to the United squad.
“He scores his fair share of goals but he is also a very hard worker, very tenacious, and has that little bit of quality about him. He will give us options going forward and I think he will be a very good signing for this club.”
