Les Phillips Joins the Big Walk 2

Get your boots on this Saturday

Oxford United legend Les Phillips has signed up for the Yellow Army Big Walk 2.

Les will join United fans on the route from Woodstock on Saturday February 21st – and fans still have time to join in.

The Milk Cup winner joining the walk is a major boost for the Yellow Army’s eagerly anticipated fundraiser.

United Head Coach Michael Appleton has also added his support to the event - and will be at the starting line of the Thame leg to wish the walkers luck and set them on their way, while members of the Oxford United Women side will show their support and join the walkers.

The Big Walk 2 will consist of four different routes all taking place simultaneously and ending at the stadium ahead of the home game against Mansfield Town. Yellow Army walkers will set off from Woodstock, Cholsey, Eynsham and Thame.

Proceeds from the ‘Big Walk 2′ will be split between the Oxford United Youth and Community Sports Trust and Oxford Domestic Abuse Services.

More than 30 people have signed up to take part in what the Yellow Army hopes will be the most successful walk to date.

Les said: “The Yellow Army Walk is a great event and I’m really looking forward to taking part again. It really brings the fans, the club and the Oxfordshire community together, which  is fantastic.

“We’re raising money for two special causes – so I’d appeal to people to get involved in any way they can.”
