Owen, who lost his father and is part of the ‘Yo-Yo’ bereavement support project, was Club Mascot for the away match with Leyton Orient FC on October 17th. Owen’s Mum, Gaynor, sent the following e-mail expressing her gratitude to Clifford Thames:
“I just wanted to say a huge thank you for your kindness and generosity.
Being a mascot absolutely made Owen’s day (his friend was very excited too), and I think you will agree you made very special memories for a little boy who has really found the last year very tough indeed.
I just wanted to let you know that I so appreciate how special you made him feel, and you made his (and my) day. Thank you”.
