Mullins a Doubt As United Take on the Magpies

Defender 50/50 for Saturday's big match

Defender Johnny Mullins is rated 50/50 for the trip to Notts County on Saturday.

The centre-half was caught late in a challenge at Yeovil on Monday and limped away from Huish Park in a protective boot, but has responded well to treatment and is in with a chance of playing as United look to start 2016 with a win.

“He’s got the protective boot off” Michael Appleton told Yellow Player HD ”and he’s walking around and doing OK. It wasn’t a malicious challenge at all but it just caught him and there’s a gash so we will keep working with him and see how that goes over the next couple of days.

“It’s a similar thing with Chris Maguire who missed the Yeovil game. He’s in with a shout and we’ll just have to monitor that situation closely.”

United go into the new year in third place in the league and still involved in the FA Cup and JPT.

“We’re in a decent place” Michael said. “I would say that 2015 has been a year where we have put things in place and laid the foundations for the way we want to go in the future. We haven’t achieved anything yet but we feel we are making progress, and 2016 is the year when we have to start to make that happen.”
