United visit Bristol and welcome Villa in the Continental Cup
Oxford United Women face two games in four days this weekend. On Thursday night they face a trip to Bristol Academy in a Continental Cup fixture. Bristol sit bottom of WSL 1 with five points from 11 games but they are in a good position to qualify for the final stages of the Cup, while United are still awaiting their first point in the competition.
Then on Sunday in the same competition Oxford welcome Aston Villa to the Northcourt OX14 1PL (2pm). This is United's final home game of the 2015 season, although with five away games remaining (including the visit to Bristol) there is still plenty to play for.
In his programme notes, manager Les Taylor says: "Villa's last visit was way back in April for a WSL 2 fixture, when I thought the 2-0 scoreline in their favour didn’t really reflect the balance of play. This time we meet them in the Continental Cup and we want to show that we have come a long way since that previous meeting. Indeed, at the end of May we drew 2-2 away to Villa and I think today’s game will be similarly tight."
Come along to the Northcourt for the final time this summer to cheer on United's women and sample the excellent facilities on offer at Abingdon United. Tickets cost just £5 for adults and £2 for under-16s and over-65s, or for just £10 you can buy a family ticket, which allows admission for two adults and two under-16s.
