Caroll called up by Republic of Ireland Under 17s
Oxford United’s young defender Canice Carroll has had quite a week.
The first year scholar agreed his first pro contract on Wednesday after impressing Head Coach Michael Appleton and the coaching staff since joining the club full time in the summer. Now his progress has been further recognised with a call up to the Republic of Ireland Under 17 Team to play Hungary in two International Friendlies to be held in BUK, Hungary from the 29th of August – 4th of September.
Canice joined the Republic set up for a training camp earlier this summer and he told us:
“It has been a great week and being called up means a lot to me and my family. It will be a fantastic experience and I’m really looking forward to it.”
Canice will be part of the United under 18 squad who continue their league season with a trip to Exeter City on Saturday morning.
