Centre of Excellence quartet make the step up to senior football
Oxford United are pleased to announce that four players from the club's successful Jennings under-17 side have been offered places in our WSL development squad.Goalkeeper Paris Sercombe, defender Lorna Stanley and midfielders Georgia Timms and Jasmine Hart were all key members of the under-17 Academy side which reached the quarter-finals of this season's FA Girls' Youth Cup and finished third in the FA Girls' England Talent Pathway Midlands Division.
They will make the step up from next week, training and playing for United's development squad in the FA WSL Development League South.
Coach Natasha Caswell said: “It's fantastic for Jasmine, Paris, Lorna and Georgia, who are making the step from Centre of Excellence football to the WSL teams. This shows that our programme is producing quality players which we are investing in for our WSL teams.
“All four players attend our Elite Academy which combines academic studies and a full-time football programme. We have seen the players' performance levels rise since they joined the Academy and I believe this is key for any young player to hit their full potential. I'm looking forward to seeing these players continue their hard work and dedication in senior football.”
Congratulations to Paris, Lorna, Georgia and Jasmine.
