Business club continues to expand
Oxford United’s new business club, United in Business, has today gained its 50th member, just 50 days after launching. Those behind United in Business have been pleasantly surprised with just how quick the uptake has been with the original aim to have 30 members by the end of the 2014/15 season. This how now been shifted to 150, and this milestone sees United in Business well on course to meet this new target.United in Business sees businesses paying a membership fee which goes to United’s Community Trust, and in return the club provides networking events and introductions to other businesses. Past events have seen United in Business members attend the Yellow’s kit launch at Malmaison and a breakfast to coincide with the fixture list release. The next United in Business event is a talk from Mark Ashton about the vision for the club before the Accrington Stanley game on September 16th.
United in Business member Paul Clark from Drewett Signs has already seen the benefits of their membership: “United in Business has been great in creating new business for us. The ethos of doing business within the members has opened lots of doors for us and we are all excited about the growth of United in Business.
Ursula Rice of Family First solicitors has been thrilled with what United in Business has to offer: “It was clear from the start that United in Business chimed with our brand values in every way. We give back to the community, connect to the public and raise our profile by attending the United in Business events. It is also the most enjoyable way of networking in town – no elevator pitches and no hard sell from other members…we will definitely be renewing our membership every year!”
