TEAM NEWS
New signings Tyrone Barnett and Brian Howard both stand by for first appearances at the Kassam Stadium as the U's welcome Accrington Stanley. Barnett made his debut in the 1-1 draw at Exeter on Saturday after joining on loan from Peterborough while midfielder Howard completed the paperwork yesterday on a deal that sees him with the U's initially until January.

The former Barnsley and Reading midfielder competes for a place in the middle of the park where Jon Meades is still missing through suspension. Will Hoskins misses the game with an injury likely to keep him out until January but Andy Whing and Ryan Clarke are both making excellent progress after their summer operations and continue to step up their training.

See full interviews with Michael Appleton and Brian Howard plus a BRAND NEW Preview Show featuring Junior Brown, Michael Collins and much more, all in Yellow Player right now.

THE OPPOSITION
Back to back wins have lifted Stanley four points ahead of the U's and interim Manager Paul Stephenson will be hoping to make it three in a row after taking charge for the first time on Saturday after James Beattie moved on. Stephenson has no new injury concerns ahead of the game, with Michael Liddle remaining a doubt with the recurrence of a knee problem. Striker James Gray should continue to lead the line after netting three goals in his last two matches, scoring goals in the manner of his father Phil, the former United striker. Accrington have two sons of former United forwards with Josh Windass, son of Dean, also in the squad.
