Yellow Army set to give the U's fantastic backing
Oxford United's next home match, against Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday November 1st, has been designated 'Yellow Army Day' with supporters encouraged to get to the Kassam Stadium, get behind the team and show their colours. After back to back wins U's fans, in conjunction with the club, have earmarked the Wycombe game as a day to increase match-day activities in an effort to support the team, create a great atmosphere and bring everyone at United closer together.
The event has received the backing of Oxford United Chief Executive Mark Ashton as part of the club's #Together campaign.
It is the first big Yellow Army match-day event of the season and it is hoped it will build on the Yellow Noise singing section initiative to boost the atmosphere and the club. The Yellow Army have issued a rallying call to United fans to pull together and attend the match in strong numbers.
Joe Nicholls, of the Yellow Army, said: " It was a great win at Northampton to follow the win over Tranmere. Our home form has improved and will be vital to us this season, so as fans we need to do our bit and make every home game a big event.
"Wycombe will be a great day to show our colours, especially after two games on the road this week. The aim is to band together and make it a day to remember. We hope it will be a day when Oxfordshire shows what our club means to us - and that we all turn out in force and go for it.
"We're all a part of it and when we pull together and inject yellow and passion across every part of the stadium it really does make a difference.
"The plans for the day are taking shape and there should be something for everyone, including families."
A number of projects will take place across the day, including a major flag display and various pre-match activities for younger fans - details will be revealed across the week.
Mark Ashton said: “Since our first day at Oxford United we’ve been blown away by the passionate support for this football club. The Yellow Army are instrumental in bringing fans together to support their team. We are working closely with the Yellow Army to improve the match day atmosphere and experience."
The event forms part of the Yellow Army's ambition to improve the match-day experience and atmosphere this season, by adding more colour and noise.
