Steve Basham raising funds for a great cause
Former Oxford United player Steve Basham, is running in the 2014 Oxford Half Marathon on behalf of the Charity SeeSaw in their Dream Team. The race takes place this Sunday 12th October 2014 and the finish line is at the Kassam Stadium, where Steve starred for five years for the U's. He told us:
"I hung up the boots at the end of last season with Oxford City so a half marathon is a different sort of challenge for me. I enjoyed coming back to watch United the other week and the fans were great. Hopefully a few of them will be doing the run as well and between us we can raise plenty of money for some great causes."
SeeSaw depends on the generosity of individuals and organisations to support their services.

Oxfordshire children’s charity, SeeSaw, has been called “The great little charity with the big heart”. One third of bereaved children can experience severe difficulties coming to terms with the death of a close family member. SeeSaw supports children at this critical time, so that they can move forward and face the future with hope. SeeSaw’s service includes tailored grief support for children, guidance and support to families, advice and training to professionals and accessible literature and resources.
Jane Elliott, SeeSaw’s fundraiser says; “We are delighted that Steve is supporting SeeSaw in this way. We have places available for other runners to join Steve in his nostalgic running event.”
