Andy Lord Leaves United

United physio resigns

Oxford United physio Andy Lord is to leave his position in June after the club accepted his resignation.

Andy has been the club physio for almost three years, having joined in September 2011 from Derby County, before which he was in the RAF.

He told us: “I feel the time is right for a new challenge. I’ve had a couple of offers from other clubs but I want to re-establish my private practice in Winchester, although I wouldn’t rule out a return to football in the future.

“Since I’ve been at the club the medical department has been improved and everyone there exhibits a high degree of professionalism. We’ve recruited some excellent support staff and I hope that they can remain part of the new set up when a new physio is recruited.”

Head coach Gary Waddock was full of praise for Andy’s contribution to the medical side of the club: “I’d like to thank Andy for his time at the club and wish him well for the future. I’ve only worked with him for a short time but he has been very professional in everything he does and has been a good servant to the club.”

United are now looking to appoint a new lead physiotherapist to work with the first team and development squad and to lead the physiotherapy team.
