Billy Turley is Friday's guest of honour v Hartlepool
This Friday night United entertain Hartlepool United (7.45pm) and we are pleased to welcome Billy Turley as our guest of honour.Known as Elvis after his well-publicised love of the singer (Presley, not Costello), Billy joined United in 2005 and remained at the club for five seasons, earning a reputation as an excellent keeper and a real character. He established a rapport with the fans and he is sure of a great reception when he comes out at half-time to do the 50/50 draw. Billy will also be in the 12th Man bar at approximately 6.30pm as well as touring the lounges before the game.
Speaking to the matchday magazine, when asked his best memory of his time at Oxford, his reply included the line, "Wembley was unforgettable - going out there and seeing a sea of yellow and the day as a whole was fantastic. We were destined to go up that day and the celebrations and then the open-top bus ride - things like that live in a player’s memory forever."
