Mullins Waits on Scan

Three players likely to miss Friday night's game against Hartlepool

Johnny Mullins goes for a scan today after injuring an ankle in the game at Chesterfield on Saturday.

Johnny ran into the advertising boards in the closing stages at the Proact Stadium and was stretchered off. He left the ground on crutches and will have a scan this afternoon before seeing a specialist tomorrow to give a detailed analysis of the damage.

Although he was typically upbeat about the injury yesterday, the centre-half is highly unlikely to feature in Friday night’s home game against Hartlepool United. He will be joined on the sidelines by Tom Newey and Michael Raynes. Newey’s suspension has been confirmed as three games for serious foul play, while Raynes will miss one game after being shown two yellow cards on Saturday.

United will look at several defensive options when they play a Development Squad game against Reading this afternoon. Matt Bevans, Sam Long and Jon Meades could all be involved, with Meades playing his second game after recovering from a long-term ankle injury.

Fans are reminded that the Hartlepool game is on Friday night (7.45pm), having been switched due to Monday night’s game at Southend United being live on Sky TV. Tickets are available from www.oufctickets.co.uk and 01865 337533.
