The U's development side visit Culham Road on Thursday
Oxford United will send a strong looking development side to Abingdon Town on Thursday to help Abingdon raise funds after last winter’s floods.Abingdon’s Culham Road ground was flooded for a large part of last season and they approached The U’s to arrange a pre-season friendly to try to raise funds. United were happy to oblige and will send a strong squad after a four-day training camp at Bisham Abbey.
Jon Meades, Callum O’Dowda and Josh Ruffels are all likely to feature after playing their first game of pre-season at Didcot last Saturday, while striker James Roberts will be hoping to add to his two goals in three warm-up games so far.
Roberts’ fellow first-year pros Sam Humphreys, Josh Ashby and Aidan Hawtin are likely to be included, while youth team captain Freddie Grant and midfielder Lewis Hayden could also be involved.
The game kicks off at 7.30pm with admission just £5 for adults and £2 for under 16s/over 65s.
