Nicky Wroe back in the Oxford United squad to face Torquay United
Nicky Wroe returns to the Oxford United squad as they welcome Torquay United to the Kassam Stadium this Saturday. Wroe was cup-tied for the Charlton game in midweek but is expected to come back into the side, especially after his superb winning goal at Wycombe last weekend.
It is a game that Wroe has been looking forward to having made over 100 appearances for the Gulls and helping them to a Wembley play-off final. We have a great four page interview with Nicky in Saturday’s Matchday Magazine and asked him whether having to miss cup games at the start of his loan from Preston has been difficult?
“Definitely. It is frustrating because everyone wants to play every game. This week was really frustrating for me because of the goal last weekend and then not being able to play in a big game at home.
“If you miss out you know there are some very good players in the squad who will play and want to keep hold of the place in the team but hopefully I will be involved again today. It would be good to play against some familiar faces but the job in hand is to get three points and an important win for Oxford.”
