The Verdict

Reaction as Oxford United draw 1-1 at Bristol Rovers in Sky Bet League 2

Bristol Rovers Verdict

Mickey Lewis

“It was a bit disappointing not to see it through and get the three points. We had chances to win the game, some really good chances in a spell where we were on top, but we didn't take them and Rovers really came at us in the closing stages, as you would expect from the home team when you are 1-0 down. Credit to them. The conditions were not great but I thought the players really dug in and worked hard, right the way through the team.

"We take the positives from the game and we start planning for Mansfield on Saturday. That will be another tough game but we are in decent form, in a good position and we are really looking forward to it."

Rovers boss John Ward:

“I think we got what we deserved. We made some errors and the conditions were tough, but we made some alterations around the team to try and get forward and get back in the game.

“Great credit to my players for getting back in the game. I thought the team on the pitch were excellent.

“We know we can improve our game, but we have stuck at it and stood up to a team that are automatic promotion contenders.”
