Keeper stays with Oxford United on loan
Oxford United have extended the loan deal for goalkeeper Jonathan Henly for a further month.
The on-loan Reading keeper has been acting as back up for Ryan Clarke for the last month due to injuries to Max Crocombe, Wayne Brown and youth team keepers Josh Hill and Eddie Cavanagh. With Crocombe still around a month away from returning, United have extended Henly’s loan and the former Aldershot shot-stopper is set for his first appearance in a United shirt at Thame United in the Oxfordshire Senior Cup quarter-final tonight.
Mickey Lewis said:
“Jon has done really well in training and shown what he can do. He fits in well with the lads, has a great attitude and it is important to have cover. Clarkey is in excellent form at the moment so Jon understands the situation and we are pleased to have extended the loan for another month.”
