We look ahead to the Capital One Cup clash at Ashton Gate

We look ahead to Oxford United's trip to Bristol City in the Capital One Cup.

TEAM NEWS
Max Crocombe returns to the starting line up as United head for Ashton Gate. The New Zealand under 20 international goalkeeper missed out in the opener against Burton on Saturday but with George Long ineligible Crocombe starts tonight as United look to cause a cup upset.

Johnny Mullins stands by to replace Michael Raynes who landed awkwardly in Saturday's game and is a major doubt. There could also be a full debut for Jon Meades who has looked sharp in pre-season after missing all of last year with injury.

See Michael Appleton previewing the game and talking about the selection options in Yellow Player where we also have a great  Preview Show featuring Max Crocombe, Steve Basham and an exclusive tour of the new-look changing rooms

THE OPPOSITION
City got off to an excellent start with a win at Sheffield United on Saturday but boss Steve Cotterill is warning his side not to let that win lead to overconfidence among a squad tipped by many for promotion:

"Winning on Saturday has helped team spirit, because it feels as though we are up and running" he said."But you have to be careful not to get too carried away. It's like the boxer who lands a good jab and thinks 'I've got him'. Then he relaxes and leaves himself open and the other guy chins him. We have to be very, very careful of that."

Former United loanee Karleigh Osborne is expected to return to the side as Cotterill makes changes for the Capital One Cup.
