Plymouth Preview

A full guide to Oxford United's game at Home Park in Sky Bet League 2

We look ahead to Oxford United's Sky Bet League 2 game at Plymouth Argyle.

TEAM NEWS
United look to get back to winning ways as they visit Home Park. Andy Whing came through training yesterday and could play a part after injury, while midfielder Jon Meades could be included after playing in the Oxfordshire Senior Cup at Kidlington on Tuesday night.

Alfie Potter and Johnny Mullins are ruled out, although Potter is hoping to return for the Easter games against York City and Scunthorpe.

See Gary Waddock discussing the game and a full Preview Show which has interviews with Tom Newey, Josh Ruffels, Trevor Hebberd, Peter Rhoades-Brown and Les Taylor.

The game will kick off at 3.07pm as a mark of respect to honour those who died at Hillsborough 25 years ago.

THE OPPOSITION
Plymouth boss John Sheridan believes his side can continue their push and pip United to the play-offs:

“Someone is going to get in there and we have got to believe we can be that side," he said. “We know we’ve probably got to win four out of the five, if not win three and draw one. We’re still in with a chance and we’ve just got to make sure we look after ourselves.

“I don’t want us to worry about anyone else. We’ve just got to try to get three points from each game.”

Sheridan knows, however, that united remain dangerous opponents : “We have had them watched, and I have watched them myself on DVDs, and they have got good players for this division. They are still in a good position, but obviously the run of late has enabled other teams to catch them up. I was looking at their bench last week, and they are really strong.”

“Gary [Waddock] was in and around the Ireland squad when I was. He’s a little bit older than me.He was a very good player, and I’ve bumped into him a few times during my management time. Gary did a great job at Wycombe and I’ve always got on really well with him.

“He will be trying to get them [Oxford] back on track and will still believe they can get in the top seven.”
