We look forward to Saturday as Oxford United welcome Fleetwood in Sky Bet League 2
United welcome Fleetwood Town to the Kassam Stadium tomorrow (3pm) in Sky Bet League 2. Here we present a full guide to the game.
Team News
United welcome back Tom Newey and Dave Kitson after suspension and injury. Newey comes back after a three game ban following a red card at Chesterfield while Kitson has trained all week after a hamstring problem and is likely to be involved as Gary Waddock takes charge at the Kassam Stadium for the first time.
See Gary previewing the game in Yellow Player right now where we also have a great Preview Show ahead of the game
The Opposition
Fleetwood boss Gary Alexander is a former teammate of Gary Waddock when the pair were at Luton Town together in their playing days
“We want to try and get into that top three, but we’ll only do that by winning games,” he said. “It’s an important stage of the season, so we need to win as many games as possible. The players are focused on the job in hand because we’ve got six massive games coming up.”
“They (Oxford) are a good team who have been up there at the top early in the season. I know Gary from my playing days. He’s a great professional and a great guy. He’s trying to change their style a little bit and they’ll be a tough opponent. We have to make sure we continue against a good opponent, though, and make sure we go there looking to win the game.”
