Beano or Deano as U's get set for Cheltenham
United will wait on the fitness of James Constable before naming their side to take on Cheltenham Town at Whaddon Road on Saturday.Constable limped off in the second half of United's 2-0 win at Burton last Saturday after getting a kick to the foot and has been unable to train so far this week. He remains a major doubt but boss Chris Wilder believes that there are options in attack if the talismanic striker misses out:
"We will give him as long as we can" he told Yellow Player. "He wants to play, just like every player wants to play every game, but we have Deane Smalley fit again if needed and as we always say you need players ready to step in and take their chances. At Burton last week Ryan Williams came on and showed what he can do in his fifteen minutes or so and that is what you want to see, players taking their opportunities and pressing for a start."
Sean Rigg and Jon Meades are both slightly ahead of schedule but still some weeks from being available again.
Although this game is not all ticket it is recommended that supporters buy in advance to avoid disappointment on the day.
At time of writing there were only 280 places available behind the goal and 111 seats down the side of the pitch available for United fans.
These are selling very quickly and fans wishing to back the U's should book their place as soon as possible by calling 01865 337533
