Rigg Returns

Winger returns as United take on the leaders

United are boosted by the return of winger Sean Rigg to the playing squad ahead of the visit of league leaders Chesterfield on Saturday.

Rigg limped off 22 minutes into the match away at Torquay last month with a hamstring problem and had been expected to be out for at least six weeks, but has returned to full training this week after making a quicker than expected recovery.

Manager Chris Wilder said: “Sean has done well to come back a couple of weeks early and it’s great to have him back in contention. He will be back in the matchday 18 this weekend and will give us a real boost this weekend.

“Unfortunately, Tyrone Marsh picked up a knock to his ankle in the development game and he won’t be fit to a play any part on Saturday but it will be good to have Sean available again.”
