"It's a Game To Relish"

Manager looks forward to taking on the leaders

United take on league leaders Chesterfield at the Kassam Stadium on Saturday and it’s a game that Manager Chris Wilder can’t wait to come around. The second placed U’s come up against the only other unbeaten side in the division and the United boss told Yellow Player:

“We have got ourselves in a very good position. We fully respect the opposition because they have had a fantastic start but it is a game that our players will be relishing and looking forward to.”

United welcome winger Sean Rigg back into the squad after injury and even without Jake Wright and James Constable the Manager believes his squad have enough quality to keep their fine start to the season going.

“Sean is a week or two ahead of schedule and will be involved and even after the couple of hits we have had with injuries there is still enough in that changing room to go and get results home or away in this league” Chris said.

Chesterfield are four points clear of the pack but that comes as no surprise to the United boss who picked them out at title contenders before a ball had been kicked:

“I think if you have asked the majority of managers in the league they would have picked the side that Paul inherited and added to in the summer.

“I have watched them two or three times, saw them in pre-season, and they are full value for their position. We just keep our heads down, keep striving to be better and it is a good opportunity for us at the weekend. You can either be intimidated by their start or you look at it as a big challenge. I know I have players in my changing room who will roll their sleeves up on Saturday and want to show that we are there on merit and want to try and close the gap.

“They will have a decent away following but we will have the extra advantage of a big home crowd. We are the leading goalscorers in the league, they have had the most wins in the league and it all sets it up for a cracking game. “
