Ask the Legends

Ron Atkinson and Steve Biggins to answer your questions for the matchday magazine

In this season's matchday magazine we are giving you the chance to ask questions of former United legends.

The latest players we have lined up for you to ask questions of include a record appearance maker and a record goalscorer.

Ron Atkinson is arguably the most well-known player ever to have turned out for United. His 559 first team appearances, accrued over 13 years, remains a club record, and he became the first player to captain a side in the Southern League and Divisions 4, 3 and 2. Following his lengthy sojourn at the Manor, Big Ron went on to greater fame as manager of Manchester United, where he was in charge as the U's knocked the Red Devils out of the League Cup in 1983/84.

Steve Biggins joined Oxford from Shrewsbury in 1982. In his second season he broke the club's 20-year old record for goals in a Football League season as he struck 24 times to help United win the Division Three title. His record lasted for just one season before John Aldridge came along, but by that time he had left for Derby County. Steve is currently Master in charge of Football at Shrewsbury School.
