United and Oxford City Stars join up
Oxford United fans are invited to attend Oxford City Stars' big match on Sunday evening as part of a special relationship between the county’s top two sporting clubs and the Yellow Army.
Both Oxford United and the Yellow Army joined forces to form a sporting partnership with the county’s ice hockey club earlier this month.
To celebrate the friendship U’s fans can enter the Stars match this weekend for half price if you show a valid Oxford United season ticket or match day stub.
Ollie and Olivia the Ox and other Oxford United representatives will be mingling with fans at the Stars game against Invicta Mustangs which faces off at 6.15pm which is being billed as Oxfordshire United Night. U's fans are encouraged to get along to the match to cheer on the Stars and help build on the unique partnership. Local charity Special Effects will be among the special guests on the night.
The partnership will see a new flag proudly displayed at Oxford United matches by the Yellow Army, incorporating both teams badges with the words “Oxfordshire United” emblazoned on it. In addition the Yellow Army are sponsoring Oxford City Stars defender and Oxford United fan Joe Oliver.
Oxford City Stars are Oxford’s top Ice Hockey team, currently champions of English National League Division 2 South. For more information visit: www.oxfordcitystars.com
