Oxford United Women celebrate another international call up
The successful Oxford United Women’s squad are celebrating another international call-up with goalkeeper Demi Lambourne selected for the England under-19 squad for the first time.
Demi, from Bicester, has been with the U’s since the under-15s and is part of the club's Academy. She will travel to St George’s Park in two weeks’ time to join the England training camp ahead of a game against Norway the following weekend.
Oxford United Women’s manager Richard Blackmore was delighted to see Demi gain international recognition:
“It is a great honour for Demi but also for the club. She has worked very hard at her game and done really well and this will be another important step in her development. With Katie Stanley in the GB side this summer and a couple of girls in England EPC squad at younger age groups it is fantastic to see the hard work from the players and coaches paying off for everybody."
