New Sponsors for under 18s
Oxford United’s successful Youth Team have a new sponsor thanks to a very kind gesture from an anonymous supporter.
Chris Allen’s youth side progressed through to the third round of the FA Youth Cup this week with a 3-1 win at Southend and are also top of their league.
Their shirts now carry the name of the British Heart Foundation who will be shirt sponsors for the rest of the season. The British Heart Foundation fund thousands of research projects around the UK to fight heart disease, saving thousands of lives and helping provide the best possible care and treatment to people of all ages affected by heart problems.
Gemma Drewett, The Youth and Community Trust’s Commercial Manager said:
“We are very proud to be raising awareness for the BHF. A supporter got in touch and wanted to help the youth team but preferred to have the British Heart Foundation on the shirts rather than his own name or company. That is a fantastic gesture and we are delighted to be helping such a great cause.”
Chris Allen, Youth Team Coach said:
“The team have been doing well and attracting a lot of media interest so it is nice to know that we are helping promote the British Heart Foundation. Everyone in the country will have been affected by someone they know having heart problems so if we can do our bit to tell people about the work that is going on then we are very pleased to help.
Fans can help the British Heart Foundation. Just text FIGHT to 70080 to donate £3 to fund their life-saving research.
