Meet Hugh Curran

Former United striker is tomorrow's Guest of Honour

Former United striker, and one of the best headers of the ball the club has ever seen, Hugh Curran is our Guest of Honour before tomorrow night's game against Newport County.

A former Scotland international, Hughie joined the U's for £50,000 from Wolves in 1972 and went on to make 115 appearances, scoring 43 goals, over two spells with United. Curran was United's leading scorer in both the 1972/73 and 73/74 seasons before a £40,000 move took him to Bolton Wanderers. He returned to the Manor three years later before injury forced his retirement in 1979.

Hugh will be present tomorrow evening for a question and answer session in the 12th Man Bar and will then be in the lounges from 7.15pm. There is also a fascinating interview with Hugh in tomorrow's matchday magazine, in which he answers questions posed by readers. You can buy a copy for just £3 around the ground or online at www.matchdayfix.co.uk from two hours before kick-off.
