Midfielder in for the U's
Oxford United have signed midfielder Scott Davies on non-contract terms until the end of the season.
Scott, 24, comes from Aylesbury and made three senior appearances at Reading after coming through the youth system with the Royals. He enjoyed a highly successful loan spell at Aldershot Town where he played an important role in their promotion into the Football League.
After further loans at Wycombe Wanderers and Bristol Rovers he joined Crawley Town on a permanent basis in the summer of 2011. He played 22 times for Crawley last season as they won promotion from League Two. However, with first team chances rare under new boss Richie Barker, Scott was released and so joins the U's as a free agent.
Manager Chris Wilder said:
"He's a player we think is definitely worth a look at. He has a very good pedigree and is someone we have kept an eye on for a while now so we are delighted that he has signed for us. He is local, he wants the chance to prove himself and we think will do well for us.
"We have given him the opportunity to impress us every day in training and in matches and get his career going again. We like players with that hunger to do well and I am sure he will do very well for the club."
