United show off brand new home shirt design
Oxford United have today unveiled their true colours for the first time ahead of their opening pre-season game against Ardley United on Saturday.
The U's' brand new Nike home kit will be worn for the first time ever as they begin what they hope will be a ‘golden era’.
The new shirt is a slightly more golden shade of the traditional yellow that United have usually worn; a nod to the club's former colours of gold and black. Designed with simplicity in mind the shirt features a lightweight, breathable material and a contemporary round collar. Danny Rose, seen modelling the kit with fellow new signings David Hunt and Jon Meades, told us:
"I like it. It is nice and simple and I think going back to the navy blue shorts is a nice touch as well."
United will revert back to their more usual navy blue shorts and navy socks for the coming season rather than last season's all yellow strip.
The U's will show off the kit for the first time on Saturday with an exciting, vibrant new sponsor to be announced in the middle of next week.
Most United fans will be able to see the kit worn for the first time when they take on Birmingham City at the Kassam Stadium on Saturday 20th July. They will then reveal their fantastic new away shirt the following weekend when they wear it as they take on Coventry City in the final home pre-season game.
The shirts will be available to pre-order from the brand new online club shop from THIS Saturday.
