Johnny Mullins and David Hunt make first home starts for United
United face Coventry City in their final home pre-season friendly before the start of the new season this afternoon (3pm) with some new faces to whet the appetites of the home fans.Johnny Mullins starts in the centre of defence, playing for United for the first time since rejoining the club less than a week ago. He partners Jake Wright while, to his right, David Hunt plays his first game at the Kassam, having missed last weekend's 1-1 draw with Birmingham City because of an infected bite on his knee. Jon Meades starts at left-back, having played in midfield in his previous pre-season games.
The central midfield positions will be occupied by Andy Whing and Scott Davies, with Callum O'Dowda's recent performances rewarded by a start on the left-wing. Ryan Williams, a triallist from Fulham, starts on the right side of midfield. Asa Hall plays in front of the midfield with Deane Smalley up front.
