Help Darryl raise funds

United coach runs Oxford Half Marathon for Helen & Douglas House

Darryl Cribben will be putting on his running shoes on and taking part in the Oxford Half Marathon on 13th October in aid of Helen & Douglas House. Darryl is the senior youth development scout at Oxford United, working alongside Les Taylor, Richie Blackmore and Andy Cassettari, who runs the Elite Development Centre. Also taking part is Kevin Warland, the under-16 youth coach (on the right of the picture).

As the club has a prior connection with the hospice, Darryl, Kevin and their fellow runners, Dan Smith and James Taylor, would like as many Oxford fans as possible to sponsor them.

Darryl told the official website: "It's a fantastic local charity to which Oxford United are linked, and if we can raise money to help the wonderful staff and volunteers who do such a good job there, and make some of the children and young adults who are guests there so very happy, then it will be fantastic."

Helen & Douglas House is our local hospice for children and young adults with life-shortening conditions, based in East Oxford. They provide vital respite breaks, end-of-life care and post-bereavement support for 360 families a year, living in Oxfordshire and the surrounding areas. Helen & Douglas House support the whole family, including parents and siblings, at every stage and help these young people live life to the full, even when that life is short.
