Wilder talks about the Birmingham game
After United's 1-1 draw with Birmingham City on Saturday, Chris Wilder spoke to Yellow Player about the game.
“I enjoyed the game," he said. "Both teams had a really good go at it. There were some good opportunities. I’m delighted in the way we went about our business and everyone had their one part.
"We created some decent chances against a good side. It’s important for the team to keep their shape because the opposition had a lot more time on the ball than us because they have some top players. Therefore, we have to make sure that we work hard and get back into a decent shape."
Chris felt that United deserved the draw: "Clarkey had a save right at the end and I would have been disappointed if that went in but it was a good save. At the other end, we’ve passed and tried to create chances especially with Asa’s two chances on goal.
"I’m delighted because we have put in an encouraging performance on home turf. Pre-season results matter, every result matters or what is the point in playing the game?”
Talking about tomorrow's match at Oxford City, the manager said: “We’ll take everybody to Oxford City on Tuesday, possibly playing a few of the younger players but there will be some experienced players there.”
