Youth Team in cup action tonight

Under 18s face Barnsley at 7pm in FA Youth Cup

United's Youth Team are in FA Youth Cup third round action this evening against Barnsley, with a 7pm kick-off at Thame United's ASM Stadium.

The young U's have beaten Yeovil Town and Plymouth Argyle to get this far, and the reward for tonight's victors is a fourth round tie at home to Stevenage. The game has been postponed twice because of the weather, with Barnsley making the long trip to Thame last time before a waterlogged pitch forced the postponement. Manager Chris Allen told www.oufc.co.uk:

"We were really disappointed when the original date got washed out, although it was the right decision on the night. Barnsley are a good side and we know how difficult it will be but we are ready for it, we will prepare properly and we will give it everything we have got."

United will include top goalscorer James Roberts and also Callum O'Dowda, who was on the bench for United's FA Cup third round tie against Sheffield United on Saturday. Captain Sam Long and left-back David Lynn have also been on the bench for United this season.

The game takes place at Thame United's ASM Stadium tonight with a 7pm kick off. Admission is £5 for adults, £3 for under 16s and over 65s.
