Mickey Lewis gets ready for Saturday's game
United head for Fleetwood looking to make it five wins in a row in the league. It will be a tough task against a side two points ahead of them in the table, but Assistant Manager Mickey Lewis believes United will be fully prepared and ready to give it their all once again:
“Fleetwood deserve to be where they are” he told Yellow Player. “They’ve come through the leagues, invested in a lot of good players and have a big squad. They have done well and we know it is going to be a very tough game up there.
“We are in a good run of form ourselves but you don’t take anything for granted. We will be fully prepared and we’re looking forward to playing. We were disappointed not to have a game last week but there’s nothing you can do with the English weather and everyone is chomping at the bit this week”.
The snow has covered the training ground for most of the week but the U’s have trained indoors at the nearby Dome and will head north today for an overnight stop ahead of the match:
“Peers School have done brilliantly for us and we’ve trained in the dome there for much of the week. It is a really good surface and the lads enjoy it there but it’s obviously frustrating not to be able to get out on the pitches at the training ground. But training has gone really well and it has meant we can get Deane Smalley and Adam Chapman fully fit. They are both involved on Saturday, and we will travel up on Friday, train, prepare properly and be fully focussed on the job in hand.”
