Under 18s beat Swindon
United’s under 18s continued their good form with a 3-2 win over local rivals Swindon Town on Saturday.
Chris Allen’s side warmed up for their FA Cup third round tie at Swansea tomorrow night with a confidence boosting win thanks to goals from Jamie Calvin and two from top-scorer James Roberts to beat the Robins for the third time this season.
Roberts opened the scoring with a good finish from a cross from winger Greg Hackett but Swindon levelled at 1-1. The strike pairing of Roberts and Calvin then combined once more, Roberts whipping in a cross for Calvin to power home to make it 2-1.
It was 3-1 when winger Sam Humphreys crossed for Roberts to score his 18th of the season and although Swindon pulled one back United held firm to seal another win.
