York City v Oxford United Preview

A full guide to tomorrow's game

We look ahead to tomorrow’s trip to York City.

TEAM NEWS

Dave Kitson will be available as United make the long trip to North Yorkshire this weekend, despite picking up another booking in last weekend’s 2-1 win over Dagenham & Redbridge. Because Kitson was dismissed for picking up two bookings in the home game against Exeter in October, the FA have confirmed that he served his punishment for those offences with the subsequent suspension served after that match. This means that Kitson, who has scored important last-minute goals in each of United’s last two league games, is available as United look to stretch their unbeaten away record this season

There are no fresh injury concerns ahead of the game, but injured trio Alfie Potter, Jon Meades and Andy Whing all remain sidelined until February. And manager Chris Wilder has moved to keep on-loan Australian winger Ryan Williams at the club until the end of the season, saying: ““It’s good for everyone concerned. Ryan is a talented player and has done well for us. He is enjoying his time here and Fulham can see him gaining experience and playing well.”

This week’s Preview Show features interviews with Johnny Mullins and Sean Rigg, as well as some unsuitable knitwear. View it in Yellow Player now.

THE OPPOSITION

Draw specialists York come into this game on the back of five stalemates from their last six league games - a run which has seen the Minstermen drop to 20th in the table. But after a difficult run which has pitted York against Burton, Rochdale, Morecambe and Southend in their last four matches, centre-back Keith Lowe feels they are capable of competing with the top sides.

He said: ““Oxford are top and we seem to be playing everybody at that end of the table at the moment, which is good because we are putting in some good performances. It’s another tough match but we will have to dig in again and know we will have the crowd behind us so, hopefully, we can come away with three points.”
