Smalley Returns

We look ahead to United's FA Cup replay at Gateshead tomorrow night

The Oxford United squad set off from the Kassam Stadium this morning en route to Gateshead for tomorrow night's televised FA Cup first round replay, stopping at Sheffield United for a training session on the way.

The good news for the U's is that striker Deane Smalley is travelling with the squad and could well be involved at the International Athletics Stadium. Manager Chris Wilder said: "Deane's trained this week. It's good to have him back involved and he'll be part of the squad tomorrow."

News from Gateshead is that the pitch will be covered ahead of the game and they are optimistic that the match will go ahead as scheduled.

Oxford fans will be housed in the East Stand, entry via turnstile 12, which will be open from 6.30pm. The Heed are producing a full-size 56-page FA Cup special edition programme, rather than reusing the one printed for the original postponed fixture.

Advanced tickets, priced at £5, are available from the Oxford United ticket office until 11.30 tomorrow morning. Telephone 01865 337533 for details.
