Manager Chris Wilder prepares for Torquay
United look to maintain their unbeaten start to the new league campaign as they travel to Torquay this weekend.
The U’s currently sit proudly top of the early Sky Bet League Two table with a 100% record from their two league games and manager Chris Wilder told Yellow Player they are looking to maintain that early momentum.
He said: “We’ll attack the next one as we did the last two. It’s good to be involved at the football club at the moment because we’re winning games, but we recognise that the next one’s the toughest it certainly will be on Saturday.”
United have one new injury concern after Dave Kitson picked up a knock in the 2-1 win over Bury last Saturday.
Kitson will train with the squad tomorrow and is hopeful of being fit to travel to Torquay this weekend as the U’s look to maintain a settled starting lineup.
“I don’t want to make any changes,” Chris said. “I don’t think there’s been any need to because the team has gone well enough as it is and everybody’s done well enough to keep the shirt.
“I’ve talked constantly about my selection and having that ability to pick the same side week in, week out. The players have to develop relationships and know their games because that breeds good understanding between units wherever they play. So yes please, if Dave is fit then we’ll be the same.”
