Captain takes three titles at annual awards dinner
Jake Wright took centre stage at the Kassam Stadium tonight as the 2012/13 Oxford United End of Season Awards took place. Guests enjoyed a fine three course meal and the chance to look back at the highlights of the season in the company of the directors, management, staff and players.
Captain Wright was the undoubted star of the evening. The defender stood out for the U's all season and was deservedly awarded three titles: the Oxford Mail Player of the Year, Andrew Knapton Supporters Player of the Year and Players Player of the Year.
Goal of the Season went to Andy Whing for his spectacular overhead kick at home to Rochdale last week, with Liam Davis's goal against Fleetwood in second and Tom Craddock's drive at Wycombe in third.
Callum O'Dowda was presented with the Avalon Pool Services Young Player of the Year while striker James Constable once again took home the trophy for Golden Boot.
A live auction and raffle and live music from the Phat Cats band rounded off a great night to end the season.
