Plymouth Preview

We look forward to tonight's game

We look ahead to tonight’s area quarter final of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy as United head for Plymouth Argyle.

Team News

United will be without both Andy Whing and JP Pittman with the pair out for at least a  month after picking up injuries at Accrington on Saturday.

Whing’s absence will mean a return to the starting line-up for Damian Batt at right back but Pittman’s replacement is less clear. Tom Craddock is back in training but was targeting a return against Aldershot on Saturday, while Deane Smalley will not be back until January. Alfie Potter and Sean Rigg could play through the middle with James Constable while young striker Tyrone Marsh could be joined on the bench by another youngster such as James Roberts or Callum O’Dowda, who have both been among the goals for the youth team in recent weeks.

Jake Forster-Caskey returns to the squad after suspension while Tony Capaldi will be looking forward to playing at one of his his former clubs.

See the thoughts of Chris Wilder in Yellow Player, where you can hear the whole game live.

The Opposition

Argyle will be without former United defender Darren Purse through suspension with full back Robbie Williams also sidelined with a stomach injury. On-loan Burnley striker Alex McDonald plays the last game of his loan spell.
