Owen Dale spoke to OUFC.co.uk after a difficult night, losing 5-0 away at Bolton.
"It's a very disappointing day. It's one that we need to make sure never happens again. There's no excuses, there's no hiding from the group. We've had a lot of words to say in the dressing room and tonight was unacceptable.
"We'll look at it first thing Thursday, look at what happened and take measures to make sure it doesn't happen again.
"It shouldn't have happened. We have to put it right at Port Vale. It has to be addressed and we have to look at it, but in the same breath, once we've looked at it and addressed it, we have to move on fast because we are in the business end of the season now. It's crunch time and after tonight we need to take maximum points from every game.
"Apologies to the fans who travelled; they don't deserve to sit and watch that. It's an unacceptable performance and we'll make sure it doesn't happen again because that can't happen. We know as a group that we're too good for that to happen. There's a lot of things we need to look at and then we go from there."
