Oxford United look to make it five wins in a row when they welcome Port Vale to the Kassam Stadium on Saturday (3pm)
With the Valiants in the early play-off places it should be a great occasion but as forward Ruben Rodrigues told iFollow, the U’s fully expect another stern test from Andy Crosby’s side:
“I didn’t know too much about League 1 football” he admitted. “I’ve never played in the league before but I did know there are no easy games and that has proved to be true. But after five games we have four wins. They have all been difficult but it’s always nice to get a win.
“We expect another tough game on Saturday though. Port Vale are up there in sixth and haven’t lost in four games so we aren’t getting carried away at all.
“The Manager talks about emotional control and how when your emotions get too high you do crazy things on the pitch which cause your own team problems, and if you get too low it can affect your confidence. So he asks us to keep a balance at all times. So far it has worked well and I think everyone is in a good place.
“I have looked at the table and it’s nice to see the team sitting top at the moment. People have been calling me from back home saying ’the table looks good’ so you can’t avoid seeing it and you always know where you are.
“But it’s good that we are doing well and we will go out there on Saturday looking to keep our good form going and get another three points on our total.”
