Oxford United head for Shrewsbury on Wednesday night looking to extend their good run on the road.
Wins at Exeter and Bolton, either side of a draw at Portsmouth, have boosted the U’s although heavy rain put paid to the game at Woking on Sunday.
That means the U’s have had longer than usual to prepare for tomorrow, but Karl Robinson told iFollow that he didn’t believe the lay-off would make too much difference to his side:
“Because of the weather we had no game and to an extent that helped people get over a few knocks and bruises but we were ready for the game on Sunday and we would still have been just as ready for Wednesday night, whether we had played or not” he said.
“From our point of view the preparations haven’t changed, maybe we might have done a little bit more work out on the grass over the last couple of days rather than recovery work in the gym after the game but not too much in terms of the way we prepared and made our plans. We will be ready.
“It’s a difficult place to go, even if we seem to have done OK there recently. We are up against a Manager who I know very very well - he’s probably one of the Managers I’ve come up against the most and his teams stay consistent in their style. We will respect that and we know they have good players all over the pitch. We are looking forward to it.”
