Oxford United Women’s goalkeeper Rose Kite made her 50th appearance for Oxford United Women last weekend.
The shot-stopper has been a vital part of United’s success this season, keeping ten clean sheets and becoming a fans favourite with some of the important saves she continues to make.
We caught up with Rose after her landmark.
“The club has become a huge part of my life. As a whole we are lucky to have a fantastic group of people that come together to create such a special environment which then leads to having an amazing fan base that support us week in, week out. Some fans have become lifelong friends and people we interact with on a weekly basis which is fantastic!”
“It’s honestly a huge honour to be a part of this amazing squad. The girls are all outstanding players and the cohesion of the group is incredible alongside a really dedicated and intelligent coaching staff.”
What’s been your favourite moment during your time at Oxford, Rose?
“I would say my standout moment from the last 50 appearances was the FA Cup game against Charlton last season. Although we lost, we battled well and held our own and I played well.”
“It might sound a little bit cliche, but Oxford have helped me develop so much as a person and a player! Over the (nearly) 3 years, they’ve helped me develop in multiple ways which contributes not only on the pitch but off it too.”
“I hope I can continue to play my football here and help the club get promotion! I’ve enjoyed the last few years here and hope that carries on for many years to come.”
A huge congratulations from everyone at Oxford United for Rose’s fantastic achievement.
