Oxford United took all three points at Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday when a late goal from James Henry earned them a dramatic 2-1 away win
“It was a great win and we managed the game really well” goalkeeper Jack Stevens, one of the Hillsborough heroes, told iFollow. “Credit to the boys because we stuck with it even when we conceded a goal. It’s been a while since we won away from home and to score right at the end means we are all buzzing with the win that little bit more.
“The preparations were different but our squad is so strong in depth that anyone who steps in is just as strong as the one they come in for. Jamo has been ill but took his goal really well so all credit to him.”
Jack played a crucial role in the victory as well with one amazing late save to deny Wednesday captain Barry Bannan.
“He hit it well and luckily enough I got enough on it to just tip it onto the bar” Jack said with typical modesty. “I had to make a few saves but that’s what I am there to do and the win is always the most important thing.
“What a place to come and get the first away win. It felt really good and the fans deserved it for the way they have backed us on the road this season.”
