Oxford United and Barnsley completed the paperwork at lunchtime today to allow Herbie Kane to stay with the U’s on loan until the end of the season.
The initial loan had a recall clause in January but the U’s have paid a fee to remove that clause and boss Karl Robinson was quick to praise the Board for enabling that change to happen
“It’s great news for us because Herbie has played really well ever since he arrived but we always knew if he did that then there could be a recall. The Board have been brilliant: they know what an important role Herbie has played for us and they were happy to do all they could to keep him here for longer.
“He showed again last night what a good understanding he has with Cameron Brannagan; both of them played in the same Academy sides at Liverpool and you can see they are on the same wavelength.
"I actually think there is more to come from Herbie. He is settled here, the fans love him, and now he knows he is staying for sure I think it is only going to help him become an even better player in the second half of the season.”
